I WAS at the Macron again on Tuesday night for Whites woeful game against Charlton.
Neither team had anything to play for and it felt like that too.
The attendance was low and the game — to quote Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood (I'm full of cultural references) — was dull, dull, dull, darling.
It got so boring in the second half that fans decided to add their own sparkle to proceedings, by flashing their smartphone lights on and off. Such fun.
It was like the modern day equivalent of a Mexican wave —another pastime of bored football crowds.
The effect was a rather pretty twinkling of lights — not dissimilar to some of those flashing Christmas decorations you can get, but on a larger scale.
It provided a brief distraction to what was otherwise a pretty forgettable night all round.
