AFTER spending a week out of the country, one of the first things I did on my return was to check out the letters in The Bolton News.
I was surprised at Linda Thomas's letter about the closure of Christ's Church School.
She said she could not comment on the letter sent out to all parents of pupils, as the Labour Party was not in power at the time.
That's a little lame. She must have read a copy.
Before that letter was sent out to parents, the school was in good shape both structurally and educationally, with a very healthy reception and pre-school set-up.
It was that letter that caused the mass exodus of pupils by the parents - and who can blame them in the circumstances?
They had fought a similar threat a few years previous. This is a big blow to local community life, and it is the fault of Bolton education bosses, no matter how they try to deny it.
