THE Government said there would be capping on council tax increases, which most people agree with. However, what a pity it didn't include capping of water charges, particularly so in relation to United Utilities who have just increased our bills by a 9.9 per cent, which is way above the rate of inflation.
Our water bills have increased alarmingly over the years, and the water watchdog has allowed them to get away with it.
Every year United Utilities is ready with excuses for making increases, which are totally unnecessary, because this company is worth millions.
It is sheer greed, and it is about time someone stepped in and put a stop to it.
