I WAS interested to read the recent correspondence and articles with regard to teaching foreign languages to primary school children.
I am all for this initiative in principal, but find it difficult to balance the concept against the reports and evidence that many school leavers are unable to write, spell or speak the Queen's English properly when they arrive at university or in the workplace.
Shouldn't educators be concentrating on the English language as a priority?
