I SHOULD be grateful if you would correct a typographical error in the letter you published from me on March 2 (EU accounts are checked by auditors).
In responding to quite misleading claims by K Gratton (February 13) about the EU accounts not being signed off, I referred to a period of 12 years, not the 12 weeks that you printed in your Letters page.
Perhaps then, K Gratton will accept that my letter was not "deceptive" at all. On the contrary, my comments were based on the assessment of someone only too well qualified to comment on the accuracy of accounting procedures - the former head of the UK Audit Office, Sir John Bourne.
