I WRITE to say how much I appreciated seeing the painting by Bill Simpson of the Odeon cinema, and how much I agree with the comments made by Olive Kenyon.
I too remember the excitement of seeing this wonderful building being erected, in what was then a rather grubby town centre. Then came the thrill of Saturday afternoons spent there watching "proper" films feeling very grown-up in the circle for 9d. This building is special and too good to be lost to developers.
