I NOTE your correspondent recently disapproved of representatives of Bolton Council attending MIPIM in Cannes.
This is the most important event in the property calendar and Bolton's participation with Manchester is to be commended.
The event will give Bolton and the region the opportunity to showcase its extremely interesting business and regeneration initiatives to an interested audience.
Would your correspondent prefer that we hide away and wait to be asked? I think not Bolton Council have now got a serious policy for attracting investment, jobs, redevelopment and, indeed, in autumn 2006 hosted at the University a developer's forum that was very well attended and has led to significant interest being shown in some of the most run down, but valuable development opportunities in our town.
This will result in jobs, wealth creation and improvements to our environment.
The attendance at MIPIM is to be congratulated, as it is part of the plan for the regeneration of Bolton.
