REGARDING the relocation of Westhoughton Cricket Club.
This old and historic club is part and parcel of Westhoughton. To sell the ground for development is a misuse of trust to the people of Westhoughton.
It beggars belief that anyone can contemplate destroying part of our heritage, all for the sake of another supermarket. We need a supermarket like I need a broken leg.
People are under a delusion if they think moving will end all their money and vandal problems, not in the least these problems will move with you.
My advice is look after and treasure what you have. Let future generations have the pleasure of representing Westhoughton at the Tyldesley's, as I did many years ago. Fond memories.
