THE leader of Bolton Council and Labour group, Cllr Cliff Morris, says that he cringes at the cost of a referendum on the addition of fluoride to our water supply.

Reading between the lines, the main reason for not wanting to hold a referendum is not the cost but, as he knows, the decision has already been made and any vote would be purely a public relations exercise.

If the result is strongly against the addition and the bureaucrats at the NHS still want to impose it, there must be great opposition from all who value democracy.

The Bolton Green Party was the first party to campaign on this issue over 12 months ago and collected hundreds of signatures from the people of Bolton.
