IT seems that I am again in the majority with writers, such as Leslie Wolstenholme, regarding the Odeon.
My memories of it were when my mother took me to see The Absent Minded Professor and the Swiss Family Robinson.
In my late teens I saw Dr Dolittle, and, as a bonus, not in the schedule, a fight started three rows forward from me involving a man punching a woman. The man was soon ejected.
The last film I saw there was The Black Hole, around the autumn of 1982.
In fact, I have never been in a cinema since. I always felt like a millionaire in the Odeon, due to an upmarket feel.
Could it not have been converted to a skating rink for the town's youngsters?
I think this would be wishful thinking indeed!
