I WOULD like to congratulate T Pearson for passing on his comments regarding the poor quality of the road markings and junctions of Bolton.
I have to add to his list, as will nearly everybody who uses this junction, the traffic light-controlled junction in Farnworth, at Longcauseway/Albert Road/Buckley Lane and Worsley Road.
Whoever planned this junction never gave a thought about how buses and lorries are supposed to safely turn right from Worsley Road into Longcauseway, or for the same vehicles to turn right out of Longcauseway on to Buckley Lane. Did the planner only have thoughts for small cars when he/she designed this layout?
There is no way on earth that the council can defend this junction as being safe.
You only have to look at the damage to the railings and bollards.
Keep up the good work, Mr Pearson, and encourage your fellow driving instructors to complain when they see the problems created by planners.
Mr J O'Connor Redcar Road Little Lever Bolton
