AT long last the public are to be given a voice in the fluoride issue again. I would strongly urge everyone who is against this to vote a resounding NO.
I have no doubt that the pro lobby will insist on having a loaded question put on the ballot paper, but this would fly in the face of common decency.
The question should simply be, "Do you wish to have fluoride in your drinking water?"
Cllr Cliff Morris says he cringes at the cost of a referendum, and says, "We need a grown-up debate".
My answer to that is, what is the point? Both sides are too firmly entrenched after so long and, if they are, like me, nothing will persuade them to alter their view.
I can only hope that the pro lobby will accept the result, which I am sure will go overwhelmingly against them.
