How disheartening it was to read the story about the band whose van was car jacked and lost their instruments (The Bolton News, February 29).

I recognised the band as The Geoff's a college band based in Leigh. I have had the pleasure of seeing these guys perform on a couple of occasions.

They are a talented bunch of lads who put on a real good show. They are all 18-year-old college students who dedicate their spare time to creating music - which is much better than loitering around street corners , or out committing crime.

If the person responsible has one decent bone in their body I hope they feel proud of the fact that they could have lost these guys their hobby, These guys are from the honest hard working youth of today, a rare breed, no doubt, who have probably saved every hard earned bit of money on buying that musical equipment you so callously stole.
