TONY Pearson makes some good points in his letter concerning traffic calming measures in Tennyson Road, Farnworth.

I feel, however, that he has been very polite in his assessment of the situation.

Irrespective of who has the right of way at the protruding island, I believe that the positioning of it is total madness.

Driving towards the junction with St James Street is similar to overtaking approaching the brow of a hill.

It comes as no surprise that Mr Pearson comments on the many near misses, and the sooner this scheme is scrapped the better.
