THERE is no way Bolton Council should be spending our council tax on people to help them kick the smoking habit.
If these people need help, that's their unfortunate problem. If a private firm wants to call in councillors to help their workforce stop smoking, that's their concern.
Will power and the "want" to give up smoking is the only way. I went cold turkey and stopped about 60 per, day many years ago.
I had a few withdrawal symptoms, but I managed to beat it. I admit I was one of the lucky ones but, in the end, it's down to will power.
Bolton Council wastes enough money as it is. Why should I and other people pay for this service which, I imagine, will be paid for from the council tax?
The council tax goes up every year as it is without throwing money away like this. These people started smoking, so they should stop smoking.
