TICKETS go on sale today for the premiere of Peter Kay’s hotly anticipated Car Share.
The six episodes will be shown back-to-back at the Blackpool Opera House – with profits going to children’s hospice Derian House.
It is Peter’s first television show in 11 years and I only hope it is just as good as Phoenix Nights.
Car Share, which will then be shown on BBC's iPlayer and then on BBC One, follows a triumphant return to the limelight for Peter, who has just finished a sell-out run of Phoenix Nights Live at Manchester Arena, raising an amazing £5 million for Comic Relief.
The plot centres around supermarket assistant manager John Redmond (played by Peter) and promotions rep Kayleigh Kitson (Sian Gibson) who are forced to commute together every day after the company announces a new car share scheme.
I am imagining a bit of a bitter sweet comedy, in which their personalities clash, with a bit of unrequited love thrown in — a bit like The Office meets Max and Paddy.
Tickets for Car Share go on sale today at 10am.
