BLACKBURN Rovers fans would have you believe they’re not too bothered about us Wanderers.
They claim Burnley is the only local derby that matters to them.
But my Facebook feed told a different story ahead of the game last week.
It was full of Rovers fans relishing a Boxing Day victory over Whites — with some mocking our new signing Emile Heskey.
Yes Rovers are doing better in the league than us but they should have known better than to start gloating before a ball had even been kicked.
Despite our Lancashire rivals dominating the game and going ahead in the first half — an equaliser from the evergreen Emile and a second just a couple of minutes later from Darren Pratley saw the visitors shell-shocked.
I was unfortunate enough to be working on Boxing Day so I wasn't there to witness the Macron erupt when big Emile scored (with the assist from Eidur Gudjohnsen no less) but hopefully he can do the same against Wigan today in the FA Cup.
