I REGULARLY visit my daughter in Bromley Cross and have noticed the lovely floral displays in the centre of Bromley Cross and other areas including Egerton and Astley Bridge.
I live in the Breightmet area and the difference is vast.
There are no floral displays whatsoever to brighten our streets, but plenty of litter.
The rubbish is evident (especially along the Long Lane and Bury Road junction).
It would be nice to have floral boxes on the railings at Bury Road/Morrisons.
I felt so strongly about this that I rang the council to find out why Breightmet is not “in bloom”.
They told me that funding was allocated via a forum and that the next meeting would be June 2015. My question could not be answered by the member of staff I spoke to.
Where has the funding gone for Breightmet and the surrounding districts?
As a taxpayer and Boltonian, I would like to know why my local area is not pleasant to view like other areas and who decided that money is allocated or not to Breightmet?
