IN Charlotte Dobson’s article (August 6) about Pillcam (capsule endoscopy), Dr Salil Singh, consultant gastro-enterologist at The Royal Bolton Hospital says that it has been around for about seven years.
It was in fact available in 2003 at The Royal Liverpool University Hospital, the only place in the North West at that time. Prior to that, it was in use in Canada.
I am pleased to see that it is now available at The Royal Bolton Hospital but disappointed to note that it has taken so long to be introduced here.
