RE the front page story on August 16. I too am a resident at Dean Court.
Just to put the record straight, Dean Court is a private housing scheme. Each of us has invested thousands of pounds in our property and, understandably, many of us wish it to be homely and pleasant.
Contour is clearly not used to dealing with private schemes.
Apparently there are various plants adorning the corridors of hospitals, prisons and even town halls. They all seem to have avoided serious injury to hapless visitors to these establishments.
We pay more than £100 per month to Contour to maintain our property, not to act as school prefects.
If we ask it to repair the paving flags, which is much more of a health and safety issue than a yucca plant, there is a bigger inquiry than a photo finish at the races.
Abandoned items are, in my point of view, unsightly discarded tat.
If Contour did its job correctly, our paths would be level and safe, all public lighting lit when appropriate and maintenance of windows, letter boxes and glass roofs up to date.
The residents of Dean Court are the ones who decide who their maintenance contract is held with and, at the rate Contour is going, it is on track to be replaced.
