THE Alliance of British Drivers (ABD) has produced a Motorists’ Charter with a blueprint for fairer treatment for drivers and better spending on roads.
A recent opinion poll found that two-thirds of drivers were unaware that barely £1 in every £5 paid in motoring taxes is spent back on our roads.
More information on this is available at: fairdealforthemotorist.org.uk A key point is that drivers found to be fined unfairly by councils should have the automatic right to a refund.
The ABD is particularly keen to hear from readers over their positive and negative experiences with councils.
Our ‘Does Your Council Give You the Hump?’ competition has already had some interesting entries and we are encouraging everyone to have their say before it closes on August 31.
