THE recent anonymous letter strongly critical of the Labour Party was spot on. It has little connection with the needs of “ordinary” people and the failure of two of Bolton’s MPs to vote firmly against the Tories’ oppressive “'workfare” policies perfectly sums up the “all-talk” approach of a number of backbench Labour MPs.
Julie Hilling is often seen grandstanding with a question at Prime Minister’s Questions, but what about actually bothering to vote, Julie?
Before local Labour activists write in to rebuke this letter, let them consider carefully and deny that the modern Labour Party is full of Champagne socialists like Tony Blair and his protege, David Miliband.
Miliband, I was reading, banked around £1 million in after-dinner speaking engagements after Labour lost power.
It has just been announced that he is heading off to New York with a top job with a charity that will pay a salary of £300,000, and with £22,000 per year towards his pension. He decided to give up the tedious job as an MP representing South Shields.
Come to think of it, what of his brother, “Red Ed” Miliband, who has a safe seat as MP for Doncaster, yet lives a more luxurious life away in a £2 million townhouse in London.
We learned all we needed to about Champagne socialists under that ghastly public school barrister boy Blair and surely only the ignorant die-hards will consider voting Labour at the next election.
UKIP plans to curtail expensive membership of the EU and “Red Ed’s” Labour does not. I think my vote will be for UKIP next time!
