WELL done Bolton Hospice and all who helped raise the £110,000 for the Hospice At Home Appeal. Let us hope the flow of much-needed cash continues.
End of life care is something most of us prefer to ignore, but problems are always best faced with the support of those who have seen it all before.
To face the end in familiar surroundings can now be the choice of those with a life-limiting illness.
This year’s Hospice Midnight Walk is again involving men — hurrah!
Let us hope this is now a permanent arrangement.
Last year I experienced a night of fun, celebration and a bacon butty in the Town Hall, followed by a stroll home beneath a light-streaked sky.
I would encourage anyone to join in. Olympic fitness is not required. The hospice will be thankful for anything raised, be it a few quid or a banker’s millions.
Lots of ways to get in touch, including a visit to the cheery shop and a few moments in the tranquil garden.
I do hope that the chap who tottered along last year’s walk in high heels has recovered in time to clip-clop along Chorley New Road again this year.
