THE sales of Easter eggs are likely to fall again this year.
Last Easter, they fell by 4.15 million and the trend is expected to continue as fewer people attend church at this time of year or take part in Lent, and chocolate eggs seem less special.
While you can be sorry for the chocolate makers, it’s basically good news for parents and for children’s health as allowing them to stuff themselves full of chocs and sweets is not sensible.
Far better to offer a social treat like a day out together to make this time memorable. This is a much better recipe for both happy and healthy families.
