ALED Jones is turning out to be one of TV’s current success stories.
Long ago pidgeon-holed as a “serious” figure, thanks to childhood success with perennial Christmas favourite Walking in the Air and then hosting Songs of Praise, he’s been revealed as a fun guy as co-presenter of Daybreak with Lorraine Kelly.
On Saturday, he joined Ant and Dec’s Takeaway japes planning a party as the boys, unseen, told him what to say – basically, one outrageous thing after another – to ordinary people.
The results were hilarious and Aled certainly threw himself into the joke. He’s a natural performer, plainly blatantly under-used previously and set to establish himself as a firm mainstream telly favourite.
