CAN we not put an end to this disgraceful, disreputable Parliament?
I read with disbelief that MPs are to get an increase in their second home expenses of £100.
The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority said the increase was to help MPs with the increased cost of freeview television, gas and electricity bills and insurance and is in line with inflation.
They already receive £20,000 or £1,666 per month for the second homes expenses. On top of this MPs will receive 2.4 per cent increase in office expenses!
Isn’t it good to know that we are all in this together, taking the strain of our country’s deficit. Tell that to the people suffering from the iniquitous ‘bedroom tax’ who stand to lose £20 a week. It is good to see that our MPs are sharing the burden just like the rest of us.
I think that if you work for local government or the private sector and you have been on a pay freeze for three years you would love to receive £100 to help you pay for your gas and electricity and freeview television. I am not quite sure where ‘freeview’ comes in; I thought it didn’t cost anything that’s why it’s called freeview?
Can we stop this obscenity?
I would call on our MPs to refuse this increase; after all we are all in this together, are we not? Also, for Bolton Council to give its poorest employees £100 to help them with the cost of living.
What's good for the goose is good for the gander and for the carpetbaggers in Parliament?
I think they should double the minimum wage to make work pay and to get the economy moving.
Never mind the bankers who should be in prison for laundering money for terrorists and drug dealers. The list is endless; not only are banks too big to fail, it seems the employees are too big to be prosecuted.
Parliament is beneath contempt and MPs of all parties should be ashamed of themselves but they have no shame.
Our country needs Oliver Cromwell.
