I AM writing in response to the story, “Fraudster turned businesswoman buys football club” (Thursday, March 14).

I am shocked and appalled that you have given this woman (Donna Oxendale) publicity that she clearly does not deserve or merit.

I may have held a little admiration for her if she had indicated that she felt any remorse or shame for her previous criminal behaviour.

However, when referring to the actions that landed her in prison, she blatantly states “I don't regret it”.

She then goes on to brag about how good she is at getting her own way and making money.

I felt offended by her attitude so I cannot imagine how any of the people who she swindled must feel if they read this article.

I am disgusted with The Bolton News for devoting column space to this egocentric woman. You should concentrate on writing about people who have actually done something worthwhile, who have helped other people or tackled true adversity, like little Katie Dodd, not people like Donna Oxendale.
