I AM becoming increasingly perturbed and confused by the seemingly biased reporting in The Bolton News which appears to have a major problem with the Royal Bolton Hospital.
Legitimate reporting is one thing but every little thing that normally would not make two lines on page five is somehow elevated to front page headlines, you are forever on their backs over every single thing.
Hospital patients do have a right to a certain amount of freedom of movement and overworked doctors and nurses who are not jailers and are not allowed to handcuff patients to their beds. Can’t you imagine how many wandering patients are brought back to their wards by caring staff? Yet should one of these patients elude capture we have dramatic lurid headlines in The Bolton News. I know that you probably won’t print this letter but I’m just stating something that should be obvious, that everyone who works at a hospital that is understaffed, under funded and under enormous pressure is being constantly demoralised by the very newspaper that should be praising and supporting them for the incredible service they provide.
