WHAT a fantastic response by Jane Whittle in Friday’s paper, regarding funding school fees — those that a local single mum cannot afford for her bright son, Mackenzie.
Sadly, there are lots of bright children from single and two-parent families and those in foster care who cannot afford such fees and, depending on where you live, or if you are willing to attend church to gain access for your children into the better funded CofE school in Bolton, then, like Jane says, you just have to work hard.
In an ideal world every child should be able to attend a school like Bolton School and every sick patient a hospital like the Queen has just been in.
But we never have, and never will have, an ideal world, so let’s just make the best of what we have, and “be the best that we can be”.
