I FEEL it is time someone should try to educate the majority of motorists who are using our roads in Bolton.
I’m sure they have all driven at some time past the bus lanes around the town. Notice, I said past the bus lanes as, from my experience when training learner drivers, we are usually the only ones in the bus lanes whilst all the other drivers drive at the side of them.
Recently, the council has changed the operational times on these lanes, making it easier to understand. If you look closely at the road sign on approach to these lanes, you will notice two sets of times, 7am to 10am, and 4pm to 7pm.
What this means is that during those times you are not allowed to use them but, outside these times, you can use the lanes.
You can also use them at any time during Saturday and Sunday.
While I’m on about education, an urgent message to all road users — a roundabout is a junction and, at junctions, signals are necessary.
