Birth

LUKE EVAN DAVIES

LUKE EVAN DAVIES

LUKE EVAN DAVIES was born at the Princess Ann Maternity Unit, Bolton Royal Hospital on Wednesday 14th March 2007 at 07:02.

Luke was due on the Saturday and so was 3 days early and arrived just in time for both Mothers Day and his Mums birthday! We are not sure on the technicalities of exactly when defined labour started but to the both of us it felt like the labour started on Tuesday morning at 03:30, some 26 hours earlier. Luke weighed in at 8 pounds and 4 ounces and everyone says that he looks like his Dad (the poor boy). We have been overwhelmed by the cards, gifts and messages that we have received following the birth of Luke and can't thank everyone enough for their thoughts and time.

Baby Luke is doing well and it has been fun so far getting to know him. Heis now 11 weeks old andit's unbelievable how time flies and also how we never have a spare minute anymore at all! He keeps us busy all day long and night. We are very lucky indeed as Luke has been sleeping through for a good few weeks now. We did have a few sleepless nights, though it was not too bad and was bearable if shared. They say the first six weeks is the worst -and if that wasit, wedid notdo thatbadly at all. Our parents (now aka Grandmas and Grandads) have been a considerable help and we count ourselves lucky in having them so close by. Luke has already grown considerably and is already starting to lift his head a little and push some weight through his legs lifting himself up a little. Luke is also starting to notice a bit more with his eyes, look around a lot and gurgle and smile. So far he seems to be rather a contented baby, crying only when he needs changing or feeding so hopefully we have got a good one!

Mum who was rather exhausted in the first week is now back to her usual self and Dad is trying to adjust to a new work/life balance by not staying at work too long. We have managed to maintain a bit of a social life so far, having friends around for takeaways and a couple of meals out, put Dad has not been to the pub much yet!

Thanks and best wishes Louise, Matt and Luke
