JAROSLAW Fojut has quit the Reebok and returned home to Poland, joining Slask Wroclaw for an undisclosed fee.
The 21-year-old defender made just four appearances in nearly three-and-a-half years with Wanderers.
The club had high hopes for the young centre-half when he joined in September 2005, and former manager Sam Allardyce handed him his debut against Watford in the FA Cup in January 2006. He made his first start at Charlton in the League Cup the following season, but injury and Allardyce’s departure hindered his progress at the Reebok.
Fojut enjoyed a successful three-month loan spell at Luton last term, before the League One outfit’s financial problems forced him to return to the Reebok. And, after undergoing an operation to resolve a long-standing hernia problem over the summer, he had hoped to force his way into Gary Megson’s plans this season.
But the reserve team captain was loaned out again in October to Stockport County, where he managed just three games due to a hamstring problem, before ending his association with Wanderers.
The Poland Under-21 has joined Wroclaw, sixth in the Ekstraklasa, on a three-and-a-half year deal.
