FIVE young Bolton footballers travelled to Sweden to play in the under-16s Gothia Cup.
Bolton School boys Harry Forshaw, Ethan Smyth, Sam Olawumi and Jameson Galoba, and Bolton Wanderers academy goalkeeper Luke Hutchinson were part of a team who progressed to the group stages of the competition, qualifying to compete for the cup before being knocked out in the quarter-finals.
The achievement of playing in the age group was particularly impressive for Forshaw and Smyth – who is in the Morecambe academy – as they are both under-14s playing two years up in age.
Forshaw, aged 13, is currently in his sixth year at Wigan Academy and is in the under-15s Independent Schools Football Association squad.
