FORMER Wanderers midfielder Stelios Giannakopoulos surprised fans by making an unannounced appearance at yesterday’s 2-1 win at West Brom.
The popular ex-Greece international travelled with supporters aboard one of the official coaches and sat with the fans as Phil Parkinson’s team started the season with a bang at The Hawthorns.
During the game he chatted with fans and posed for pictures, which have been bouncing around social media ever since.
A post also contained some words from the 44-year-old about his admiration for the Bolton fans.
"I would like to take this post as an opportunity to say a big thank tou to all the fans for the love they showed me at the game today," it read.
“These moments are priceless for me.
“I can’t find the right words to describe how I feel right now.
“Great start to the season with a massive win against West Brom.
“Congratulations to everyone – players, coaches, fans. Come on you Whites!”
