A BOLTON schoolgirl's footballing ability has been recognised at the highest level.

Lizzy Harkness has trained with some of the best teenage girls in the country at two FA national performance camps and has been selected to attend a third before the end of the month.

The Year 9 pupil at Bolton School trains with the Everton Under-14s girls' academy and has also been picked for the regional development programme.

Lostock teenager Lizzy's first performance camp took place in November with the second one last month at the University of Warwick.

The weekend camps provide coaching for girls who are identified as having elite potential and are attended by the country’s best players.

They are aimed at developing players by providing the guidance and support of FA technical staff and access to specialist medical and sports science.
