ATHERTON Collieries kept their title hopes alive with a 2-0 win at home to West Didsbury and Chorlton.
Michael Clegg's men remain in third place, 13 points behind North West Counties League Premier Division leaders Runcorn Linnets with three games in hand, after goals from Bradley Cooke and James Kirby handed them all three points on Saturday.
Daisy Hill won by the same scoreline in the NWCL First Division, gaining an impressive victory at sixth-placed Litherland REMYCA.
Curtis Cummins had a hand in both goals, firing in the opener in the 44th minute following a corner and then drawing a foul in the box to set up Jordan Hussey to seal the points from the spot eight minutes from time.
Manager Craig Thomas said: "The lads held their positions well and didn't lose concentration.
"Even with the wind against us in the second half we used it to our advantage by keeping possession. It was another solid team performance."
Daisy, who are 12th, entertain Atherton LR tonight, kick of 7pm. Their neighbours' difficult season continued on Saturday with a 2-0 defeat at Holker Old Boys.
Colls, meanwhile, continue their quest for promotion with a game at mid-table Runcorn Town tonight.
