BOLTON School Girls’ Division Year 11 pupil Ellie Broome has been selected to attend the England Lacrosse U19s Academy.
As well as playing for the School team, Ellie has been at Regional academy level for the past few years.
She has been a member of Lancashire’s lacrosse squads since 2012, and became part of the county’s U18 A Squad in 2014 and also was one of five Girls’ Division pupils to join the Junior North of England Lacrosse Squad in February.
A spokesman for the school said: "The excellent standard of play and dedication she has demonstrated over the past twelve months have now earned her a spot in the national England Lacrosse U19s Academy.
"Ellie will now have the opportunity to train and play alongside the top lacrosse players in the country.
"This is a particularly impressive achievement as Ellie is just 16 years old."
Ellie was also recently re-selected for the Cumbria County U18s Elite Golf Squad, and named the first female Junior Captain of Kirby-Lonsdale Golf Club for the 2015 season.
