WANDERERS (4-4-2 diamond)
ADAM BOGDAN 8 We knew full well Bogdan had this kind of quality but if the manager needed a reminder of what a tough choice he’s got in goal, this was it.
JOSH VELA 8 Oozed confidence in the first half and continually ate up space in the Wigan half. Had to defend more after the break but an excellent display.
DAVID WHEATER 8 Wheater never lets anyone down and produced another dominant performance at the heart of defence. Could have had a goal for his efforts too.
DORIAN DERVITE 7 The Frenchman continues to look the most composed and consistent part of Lennon’s back four, happy to keep the ball moving around.
TIM REAM 7 Still growing in confidence as he joins in further up the pitch but the American didn’t let much in behind him either. Another Mr Reliable.
NEIL DANNS 7 Just keeps on going. Captain – albeit by elimination – led my example in midfield and battled for every second ball. Deserves a new deal with the Whites.
LIAM FEENEY 7 Another one of the unsung midfielders whose effort levels went through the roof against Wigan. Chased and harried everything down his side of the pitch.
LIAM TROTTER 8 Probably his best afternoon in a Bolton shirt. Trotter can follow in Darren Pratley’s footsteps and earn a place among the fans’ favourites.
DARREN PRATLEY 7 Definitely playing with confidence and looking so dangerous as he links up with the attack and bursts into the penalty box. No goal this week, though!
ZACH CLOUGH 9 Sprung into life whenever he got space to turn with the ball, scaring the living daylights out of the Wigan back four. And he’s 19 years old!
EMILE HESKEY 7 Won his headers, occupied two markers at times and gave room to those around him. A solid afternoon’s work for the veteran front man.
Subs: C Davies 62 (for Heskey) – Good to see him back 7
Gudjohnsen 88 (for Clough) – Late cameo 6
Not used: Lonergan, Spearing, Wilkinson, Threlkeld, Medo.
