BOLTON School's Joint Jazz Band outperformed themselves at the National Concert Band Festival annual North Regional Festival to net the highest award.
The young musicians entered the School Big Band Class and were awarded a Platinium Award after impressing adjudicators with Hit the Bricks, Mask of the Chili Pepper and Lip Services.
The band also won an invitation to participate at the two-day Thirtieth Anniversary National Festival — an event to be held at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, next April.
