A BUS driver injured in a town centre crash has died.
At around 2pm on Tuesday, September 18, the 58-year-old was driving a bus along Crook Street, towards the junction with Thynne Street when he fell ill at the wheel.
The bus collided with a fence and a tree.
The man was taken to hospital but sadly died.
Nine passengers on the bus were not injured.
Specially trained officers are supporting the family at this difficult time and police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the Serious Collision Investigating Unit on 0161 856 4742 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
