COMPUTER firm dabs.com is making almost ten per cent of its workforce redundant.
The online retailer, which is based in Bolton, has announced 20 of its 240 jobs will be lost.
A spokesman for the company said: “Like any business, dabs.com has to keep its budgets under constant review and 20 of 240 employees will be affected.
“The company is working in a market that is very different from last year.
“It wants to grow its business by being more competitive and efficient and is making a number of changes to help achieve this.
“We are advising all staff of this and working with those affected to ensure that they are treated appropriately.”
The company is based at Wingates Industrial Estate in Westhoughton.
The redundancies at dabs.com come after Edwards Agency, one of Bolton’s best known estate agents, and Rivington Taylor, Bolton’s biggest independent furniture retailer, fell victim to the credit crunch.
