A GROUP of travellers moved by a court order from a town centre car park have set up camp next to the railway station
About a dozen caravans have parked up on land behind the Johnson Street car park, next to the site of Bolton's planned transport interchange.
Bolton Council has threatened legal action if the travellers do not move within 24 hours.
It is the same group that set up base in the Breightmet Street car park on July 11.
The council issued them with a notice to leave, but were forced to take them to court on July 16 after they had failed to do so.
Magistrates ordered that the 13 vehicles stationed on the car park must be removed, along with anyone residing in them.
On their latest appearance, a Bolton Council spokesman said: "We have served the travellers with a notice to leave giving them 24 hours to move.
"If they don't move we will apply to the magistrates court on Monday for an order to remove them from the land.”
