Katy Cavanagh led her neighbours from Coronation Street to victory as she captained the Weatherfield team at a charity netball tournament.
The girls from the cobbles took on Emmerdale for the Soap and Superleague Charity Netball Challenge at the Manchester Thunderdome in aid of ITV charity Text Santa.
The actress, who plays Julie Carp, played alongside co-stars Brooke Vincent, Samia Ghadie, Jane Danson and Alison King as well as four members of the Manchester Thunder netball team.
The former Canon Slade and High Lawn Primary School pupil, originally from Astley Bridge, starred at centre as the team pipped Emmerdale’s Charley Webb, Gaynor Faye, Michelle Hardwick and Charlotte Bellamy to the title.
The Corrie stars, decked out in the gold and black of the Manchester Thunder team, went through four gripping 15-minute quarters along with international netballers Sara Bayman, Emma Dovey, Laura Malcolm and Rachel Henry before winning 33-28.
Katy said: “We’re hoping to make this an annual event so hopefully you’ll see us back here again next year.”
