CHILDREN were treated to a day that was out of this world when robots and aliens descended on Bolton.
Hundreds of children got to see their favourite characters from The Sarah Jane Adventures yesterday when the BBC held a fun day at the Vue Cinema at Middlebrook Retail Park.
The Sarah Jane Adventures, a Doctor Who spin-off, follows the adventures of investigative journalist and former companion of The Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith, played by Elisabeth Sladen.
Highlights of the fun day included signing sessions with the show’s characters.
Fans even had the chance to see props close up, including the Sarah Jane robots.
Young fans were treated to an advance screening of the “Death of the Doctor” episode, starring Matt Smith as The Doctor, which was introduced by four of the cast members.
Brian Minchin, producer on the show since the fourth series, said: “Tickets went so quickly.”
The Sarah Jane Adventures is on CBBC at 5.15pm on Mondays and Tuesdays and is repeated on Wednesday and Thursday at 4.30pm on BBC1.
