THE home of Bolton Wanderers star Jlloyd Samuel has been searched by police after a woman claimed she was sexually assaulted at a party.
The 30-year-old woman alleges the assault took place on Saturday evening at the Cheshire home of the Wanderers’ defender.
The 29-year-old threw a party at his home in Booths Lane, Lymm, following Wanderers’ Premier League season opener against Fulham which ended 0-0.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “On Tuesday, August 17, a 30-year-old woman contacted police to say she had been sexually assaulted while attending a party in Lymm on Saturday, August 14.
“A statement has been taken from the woman and police inquiries are ongoing.”
Forensic investigators conducted a search for clues and DNA evidence at the scene on Tuesday.
No arrests have been made in connection with the inquiry.
It is believed that a number of players and people connected with the club attended the party on Saturday.
Former Aston Villa player Samuel, who has been rumoured to be contemplating a move to Newcastle United, was brought to the Reebok in 2007 by Sammy Lee.
He received international recognition last September after being selected to play for Trinidad and Tobago in the World Cup qualifiers.
