A PERVERT was trapped in an online sting — when a journalist posed as a 13-year-old girl in a chat room, a court heard.
Sameer Jusab, aged 30, encouraged the person he thought was a teenage girl called Kareen to perform sex acts.
Jusab only escaped jail because the girl was not real and he resisted requests from the “girl” for them to meet.
Bolton Crown Court heard a newspaper reporter set up an internet chat room called “No Adults” and created a fake profile — KareenR12.
Jusab, of Litherland Road, Bolton, joined the site the same day and sent the girl an instant message asking her name and age and asked her to send a photograph.
Jusab, who claimed he was only 20, spoke of wanting to perform a sex act on the 13-year-old, the court heard.
He asked her to send him naked pictures and he also encouraged her to perform a sex act on herself.
He sent two video clips of a couple performing a sexual act.
Jusab, described in court as shy and introverted, even asked the girl to send him her underwear in the post.
The court heard the journalist had emailed Jusab several times asking for them to meet up, but he had ignored these requests.
Judge Steven Everett said: “To any reasonable person, these acts would be regarded as disgusting and unacceptable.”
Jusab pleaded guilty to inciting a child to engage in a sexual activity on the basis that he never intended to meet up with the child.
He was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for the next seven years.
He was given a five-year sexual offences prevention order.
This means he is banned from having internet access on a personal computer or mobile phone and also prevented from seeking employment in a job where he would come into contact with girls under the age of 16.
He was also given a three-year community order and must complete the Northumberland Sexual Offences Programme.
