SHOPPERS in Breightmet will receive a boost when a new store opens on the former Safeway site on Bury Road this weekend.
Home Bargains will open its doors tomorrow morning and will share the same building as Netto, which opened yesterday.
The store, which has undergone a £300,000 refit, will employ 30 people and will sell health and beauty products, household goods, home style accessories, drinks and alcohol. It is owned by Liverpool-based firm TJ Morris, which already has one store on Newport Street in Bolton.
The new store will be open seven days a week.
A spokesman for the company said: "Our Breightmet store is four times larger in size than our current store and will offer a larger range of products to customers than our town centre store."
TJ Morris was established 30 years ago with its first store in Old Swan, Liverpool.
The company has more than 110 stores in the UK, located throughout the North and the Midlands, and employs about 3,000 staff.
It will rent the building from a tenant of Danish supermarket chain Netto.
