A HUNGRY Bolton Wanderers fan is making it his mission to visit every football league ground in the country in one season — and eat a pie in each.
Tom Dickinson, who has been an avid Whites fan since his godfather took him to Burnden Park as a youngster, is only a few steps away from completing his historic mission.
He aims to watch a match at each of the 92 football league grounds this year, finishing at the Reebok Stadium for Bolton’s last home game of the season against Hull City on Saturday, May 16.
Tom, aged 22, is writing a book about his exploits, entitled 92 pies — named because he samples the local delicacy at every ground he visits.
He has devoted his entire year to the quest, sometimes going to six matches a week, and has spent more than £3,000 financing it.
He spent the summer holidays working as a gardener and a guitar tutor to save up for it, and is living with his parents in Hertfordshire to conserve his funds.
He said: “All my money goes on petrol and football tickets. Some people travel the world after they leave university, but I’m doing Grimsby and Walsall.
“I’ve been in discussions with publishers, so hopefully I’ll be able to make the money back.”
