A MOTORCYCLIST knocked down and dragged 800 yards by car thieves towing a caravan said last night: “I thought I was going to die.”
But Liam Brennan, aged 19, escaped with just cuts and bruises — and believes his safety gear saved him.
He was knocked down in Bridgewater Road in Walkden, last Saturday.
Mr Brennan was trapped under a caravan for half an hour as firefighters worked to free him.
The teenager, of Glenbrook Gardens, Moses Gate, Bolton, said: “I was literally screaming for my life as I was being dragged along.
“The petrol tank on my bike started to leak and I could see sparks behind me. I really thought I was going to die.
“It is a miracle that I was not more seriously injured and I went home and bought a Lottery ticket because I thought it was my lucky day, but I only got two numbers.”
Mr Brennan was wearing specialist motorbiking boots which he believes stopped his leg from breaking.
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested and released on police bail in connection with the crash.
