BOLTON Wanderers star Gretar Steinsson and his wife Manuela have been helping to promote children's literacy.
The Iceland international and his wife, who is a former Miss Iceland, visited the Starbucks coffee shop at the Middlebrook Retail Park in Horwich to support a reading campaign.
Starbucks has launched a new initiative to collect new and used books for local primary schools and is asking its customers to donate books.
Store manager Jayne Delvard said: “It was great to have them here to raise awareness for this scheme.
“Literacy has a huge impact on happiness and success for children. Supporting the young people of Bolton through this scheme will hopefully empower them to achieve their full potential.”
Donated books will be split between Claypool Primary School and Chorley New Road Primary School.
The shop is hoping to donate 1,000 books to the schools.
